Subject: Braxton Hicks Contractions I started getting braxton hicks contractions at just over 19 weeks - the first one was after sitting in the heat at a Dodger game. I was getting only a few a day but last week they increased significantly. Last Wednesday I started writing them down, mainly for record keeping in case something happens, but partly to help myself keep a realistic view of...

22 weeks, 5 days. In an attempt to let my body rest a bit while I was at work yesterday, I slouched down in my chair. I was amazed to see movement from the outside. At night there was a ton of movement and Eric lay with his hand on my belly, in awe of all the activity....

I held out my hand and accepted the sample of kettle corn. The vendor smiled and said, “The babies’ll love it.” My first stranger comment! I’m sure the plural use was an slip of the tongue, but it was a serendipitous one nonetheless. I smiled all the way back to my office.

Having twins, I’ve been put into the “high risk” category. At first, it was a little startling but I like to think of it as extra special care and attention. I’ve already had 8 ultrasounds whereas other women at my stage have only had a few. I had my 20 week anatomy scan with the perinatologist on Thursday. It was neat, we took a look at all the bones and everything. My doctor switched to the 3D...

Thursday night, at exactly 19 weeks, I lay in bed falling asleep. The baby(ies) seemed really active so I rested my hand on my belly and amazingly, I felt a few kicks and nudges from the outside. Knowing it’s still really early to feel movement from the outside, the next morning I doubted myself and wondered if I had confused it with movement from the inside. At night, I lay again with my...
