I’m 24 weeks now, a big week in terms of viability.
I passed my glucose test with flying colors, but it appears that I am anemic. Oops! My doctor told me to start taking iron supplements, I asked if I should eat more meat because my meat intake is minimal. She said that I could do that but she’d still like me to take the supplements because I’m having twins - she wants my iron levels to be as high as possible when I give birth.
Peanut butter muffins, breakfast for the week. All I need is a smear of jam!
I did it!

Heart shaped pancake
A special morning. Sweets is making me pancakes :)
It’s my brother’s birthday. He doesn’t much like traditional cakes, so I made him Korean yakbap (steamed sweet rice cake). Someday I will master square cutting.
Late to the party, but testing out instagram. Saturday morning, coffee in my ABC Store reward cup. (Taken with instagram)
A coworker gave me a bunch of pastillas.
Flavors: ube, macapuno, carrot, and jackfruit.
My favorite is ube, of course :)
Every day I come home from work, it’s like Christmas. (All of these packages are from today).
Subject: Braxton Hicks Contractions
I started getting braxton hicks contractions at just over 19 weeks - the first one was after sitting in the heat at a Dodger game. I was getting only a few a day but last week they increased significantly. Last Wednesday I started writing them down, mainly for record keeping in case something happens, but partly to help myself keep a realistic view of what’s going on. At two days shy of 23 weeks, here’s what it looked like yesterday:

I went to see my doctor about it last Friday and after a quick check was reassured that everything is fine. She said that sometimes with twins, braxton hicks contractions are more common. I have a lot of trust in my doctor so I’m sure everything is fine, but they are still scary and I wish they would stop or at least let up a bit. I didn’t think they would happen this early or this often. I’ve been told by friends that they will intensify as my pregnancy progresses so I worry about what is to come.
22 weeks, 5 days.
In an attempt to let my body rest a bit while I was at work yesterday, I slouched down in my chair. I was amazed to see movement from the outside. It was sporadic, but most definitely happening. I took in the moment and watched for a few minutes before getting back to work.
At night there was a ton of movement and Eric lay with his hand on my belly, in awe of all the activity. We are happy that both are growing strong.
