Went on a new year hike this morning.

Brunch at the Larder at Tavern. Lemon ricotta pancakes for me, Wild mushroom, goat cheese, and spinach frittata for him.

Watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe, jicama, coconut, orange, pineapple, and mango - all topped with lime and chile. Lip smacking.

I snapped this while taking my dog on her afternoon walk. Beautiful, isn’t it? It’s been warm here, some have been complaining about the heat. But I love it.

Today’s indulgence: Taking a breather, enjoying the blue sky on a beautiful warm day.

I love the feeling of warmth on my skin. Days like this. I thought I needed a break so I got a coffee and now sit outside to enjoy it. Looking around there are a lot of others out here. If makes me happy to see them out to enjoy the weather also. I make a promise to myself, to come out and take a breather more often.

Things have been heavy at times, lately. I don’t usually like driving in the rain but this was the first fall of the season and I found it to be comforting.

Yoga, lunch, massages, drinks. It’s my friend’s birthday. Relax, renew, ground.

Today’s indulgence: Morning sun over LA.

I made a new goal the other day: more tea, less coffee. I’ve been sticking to it. Today, I brewed a cup of tsugaru green tea. Lovely. The view from my office, also lovely. I turn to look out and enjoy the moment, I take a sip. It is quiet, it is early. Only a handful of others are here and the office still sleeps. This quiet time, this peaceful time, my favorite moment of the day.
